Lockdown Brewery Grand Opening – Folsom, CA
Date: November 10, 2011
Location: Sutter Street
On November 10th, active partners Robert Whistler, Andrew Mering and Jonathan Knowles threw a soft opening party to welcome the Lockdown Brewery beer tasting room to Sutter Street, in Folsom’s Historic District. Dave Kerno and Andrew Mering posed for a picture with their wives Laura and Julie while the Blue Grass band, Fruition, played live music. Customers, vendors, and guests enjoyed various types of beer with the owners and staff. The Sutter Street tasting room is Lockdown’s second location but first retail establishment. The tasting room has a historical jailhouse ambiance, from prison barred windows and solid steel bathroom doors, to a whole list of historically named drafts on tap. Some fun beer names include soon-to-come drafts like Folsom Breakout Stout, named for a long standing Folsom bicycle club; Hey Honey Porter, in honor of a Johnny Cash song; and Represa Red Ale, named for the city where the historic prison is located. A family-friendly establishment, the brewery even has something for the kids: Rainbow Root Beer, named after the famous Folsom bridge.
