Family Fun Day At The Folsom Zoo – Folsom, CA
Date: May 26, 2013
Location: Folsom Zoo

This year marked the 6th annual Family Fun Day at the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary hosted by The Cappuccino Cruisers Classic Car Club, a community oriented group who regularly participate in local events. Founder Ray Marchese organized the family event held on May 26 with the help of his wife, Chris.
The day included a display of classic cars, 32 vendors, informative booths, and family activities including face painting. Kids also took pictures with Tina, the tooth-shaped mascot at The Tooth Station booth where Kristie Miser and Doreen Bowen handed out free toothbrushes and toothpaste. Ray said the event promotes quality family time and giving back. He recalls helping one mother whose children wanted to go to the zoo but who couldn’t afford it.
People are blown away, he said, and walk away in gratitude. “That’s the sole purpose of doing this event – helping each other, trying to make something better for somebody else.” With the help of sponsors, 600 zoo passes were handed out. Sponsors included PrimeLending, Western Feed & Pet Supply, Eskaton, The Learning Patch, SAFE Credit Union, Wells Fargo Mortgage Division, Jim den Dulk with Ideal Life, and Sam’s Club. Save Mart had its Big Red grocery cart on display, and Campbell’s Soup donated packages of cookies and juice.
