The El Dorado Hills Community Service District teamed with the Teen Center to host the 10th annual Daddy and Me Valentine Dance on February 10th at the CSD gym. Recreation supervisor Whitney Kahn said that this is one of the staff’s favorite events of the year and it has become a real tradition among local families. More than 300 people including daughters, dads and grandfathers joined the celebration and enjoyed music, refreshments and fun activities.
Teen Center staff set up a photo booth supplied with silly props that included hats, umbrellas, mustaches and bunny ears. Dads performed in an air guitar contest and winners were chosen by Teen Center staff. The evening ended with the slow song, “Butterfly Kisses,” which has become the event’s closing tradition. Whitney said that as guests danced, staff members had tears in their eyes seeing dads and daughters having fun and making memories.
