Two trucks were piled high with toys at the end of the day on December 8th after the ‘Christmas is for Kids’ Toy Run hosted by The Cappucino Cruisers. All of the toys benefit the local police department’s Christmas Basket Program as well as the Folsom Food Bank’s Annual Food Basket. In addition to the Toy Run, The Cappucino Cruisers donated $200 to buy more toys for the community oriented program.
There were 100 to 150 classic cars at the family-friendly event and awards were handed out to some of the popular favorites. Those attending enjoyed lively music as well as treats provided by a local doughnut shop, Starbucks, and Sam’s Club. While taking a picture with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, one child mistook a woman wearing a Christmas sweater as Santa’s elf and she good-naturedly stood in for the picture, proving the holiday spirit of giving was in full swing.
The Cappucino Cruisers started the annual Toy Run tradition when the group began 17 years ago. Since then, they have raised $130,000 for the community.
