Breast Cancer Awareness At Maribou Salon
Date: October 21, 2011
Location: Maribou Salon, Blue Ravine Road
Maribou Salon’s owner, Jill Cromwell, excitedly reported that this year’s event of choice for breast cancer awareness month was a another great success. On October 21st, at their location at the corner of Blue Ravine and Natoma St, clothing designer Evila joined with the Maribou staff to do full make-overs on twenty models, each of whom is either a breast cancer survivor, or is currently battling the disease.
The tears flowed among these beautifully dressed ladies as they bonded and enjoyed an evening of pampering and education about how breast cancer affects women. After they strutted their stuff on the catwalk, Evila invited the ladies to be the first to buy any selections they just couldn’t go home without. Volunteers donated time, supplies and prizes to coordinate the bake sale and raffle.
The entire Maribou staff including Veronica giving facials, Melina doing make-up, and Jody, Andrea, Billie, Loreal, Felicia, Amy T. and Amy B. styling hair, were proud to be a part of this event that was able donate $1000 from the proceeds of the fashion show to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.
