Our swim school is a family owned and operated with over 40 years of experience teaching swimming lessons and coaching swim teams. Steve Wallen Swim School owners Steve Wallen and his son Kaleb Wallen both personally train and supervise their staff and swimming instructors. Steve Wallen Swim School helps students in El Dorado Hills, Folsom, and surrounding area learn to swim and better their swimming skills, and now they are now opening a new location in Roseville, Ca.
There are many reasons to learn how to swim. It is a basic survival skill, if nothing else. Swimming is also great exercise, and it is a fun activity as well. Infants can learn to survive if they fall into the pool, and swimming actually comes very naturally to most small children. More than anything else, swimming is about conquering your fears and learning to thrive and even have fun in an environment that could potentially be dangerous. Swimming lessons are lessons for life, and swimming lessons save lives!

Our beautiful facility at Wallen Swim gives you the perfect location for swimming lessons year-round. The swimming facility is beautiful and comfortable for swimming, no matter what time of year it is. The facilities are comfortable for parents who are watching swimming lessons as well as for students and parents who are taking joint lessons. At Wallen Swim, our goal is to make sure you have a pleasant and enjoyable swimming experience at any time of year, no matter the weather.
There are many swimming teachers in Folsom and the Sacramento area who teach lessons primarily in the summer in cold, outdoor pools. We have an indoor pool because we believe it is important to have a controlled, comfortable environment for our swimmers. This allows our students to continue with lessons past the few months that the weather is warm enough to swim outside. It is possible to gain a basic, bare-bones swimming competency over the course of a few months, but to really become excellent at swimming and get the most enjoyment, you or your child needs to continue taking lessons even after the weather turns cold. Year-round swimming lessons also mean that you can get your child ready to swim on vacation ahead of time, so that by the time summer arrives your child will be confident and ready to swim safely!

Wallen Swim wants to help you or your child become a strong, safe swimmer. We want you to have fun and get the most out of being in the water.
Wallen Swim understands that teachers and students have to be able to work together to achieve success. You don’t just need a swim lesson location that is nice; you also need a swimming teacher that you or your child can trust. You need a personal connection to help you or your child feel comfortable going underwater, since this can be scary for some students to do for the first time.
We also understand that sometimes kids take a little extra time to get accustomed to their swim lessons and gain the confidence being in the water. We will reassure them and teach them that the water is fun, but there are some kids who just take a little extra attention no matter what we or the parents do to calm them. We do offer a free trial class to give us a try and see if it is a good fit. We do ask for you to give us 3-4 classes to help calm your student and help them gain the confidence they need for swimming success.
If you don’t feel your child is ready for swimming lessons, or if you just don’t see the importance in your child learning to swim, then give us a call and let us discuss our research and experience in teaching babies, kids, and adults to swim. Contact us today to schedule a tour of our facility, or to enroll in Steve Wallen Swim School and be a part of the SWSS experience. You’ll be glad you did!
