Hot Chili & Cool Cars

Downtown Rocklin was rockin’ with a record attendance of nearly 15,000 people who came out to Hot Chili & Cool Cars held on Pacific Street. This is the 19th year for the event that features local businesses serving up their best chili recipes. “Chili Alley” was full of people tasting and voting for their favorites among the 27 local business vying for the title. One hundred eighty-three classic cars filled the streets along with other vendor and business booths, entertainment, music and kids booths. Peoples Choice award for best chili went to California Transmission who has won the the title every year since 2004. The Best Chili award went to Dickies BBQ. The Most Unusual Chili award went to The Rocklin Community Theatre for their inventive Peanut Butter and Jelly Chili. Bret Ervin’s 1967 Chevrolet Camaro took Best in Show at the Car Show with the runner up prize going to Noel Bender’s 1959 Buick LeSabre. The event was put on by the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce and promotes business-building in the community with “Chili Alley” serving as a great team building exercise, bringing together businesses and nonprofits in the Rocklin area.
